I gotten to know some really great persons during that time and looking forward to meet many interesting people in the future. Hopefully Antura will continue to grow and thrive for years to come behind all the love and passion i put into this project.

LOCAL HEROES #008 BY BARBUTO

11/07/2016

It was in the dark, cavernous clubs around Europe during a stint as a vagabond professional cyclist where the foundation was laid for BARBUTO and his dark knight approach to sovereign lifestyle, beliefs, art, fashion, and techno. More comfortable spending endless hours in the booth and studio than in the saddle training for his next race, the Austin, Texas transplant has been slowly crafting and purveying a masterful blend of dark, groovy techno over the last decade.
Native to Australia, BARBUTO has come a long way since relocating to the live music capital of the world. Having received awards from the Austin Music Poll as #2 DJ in the city, #1 on the Study Breaks statewide collegiate music poll, as well as having earned long standing residencies at several popular clubs, he quickly earned his stripes. It was by way of the creation of his online resource for underground dance music (ElectricAvenueATX.com), and his commitment to the ambassadorship of his beloved genre in Austin, the newcomer was quickly accepted, and a successful DJ career was underway.
Thanks to the opening of Kingdom Night Club in Austin, Texas, touted by world class techno talent as one of the best clubs to play in the country, BARBUTO has found himself spending plenty of time perfecting his skills where he is most comfortable: the DJ booth. He has had the honor of opening for the likes of SIAN, Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, Alan Fitzpatrick, Jay Lumen, Coyu, Timo Maas, Matador, Booka Shade, Drumcell, as well as many others including SIAN. Unbeknownst to the avant-garde Octopus Recordings label boss that his label had been supplying BARBUTO with the very sounds he needed for the heavy bass-hungry, off-tilt, rather dark-themed crowd of Austin. BARBUTO’s connection to Octopus was apparent, and the Aussie-Texan then focused his efforts upon perfecting his production craft in the studio. Over time, music exchanged hands and a few tracks had finally found their home with the prestigious Octopus Recordings label. For 2015, Octopus is where BARBUTO will be calling home with his first EP hitting the online shelves this Spring. He was also bestowed the honor of becoming a DJ on the official Octopus Recordings label roster.Perched inside his 36-foot live-in travel trailer studio, buried secretly between state forest land and Willie Nelson’s estate deep in the Texas Hill Country, and caught between the sounds of ranchers gunfire, BARBUTO continues to craft and hone his inner-city techno sound, keeping things dark and groovy.

EPISODE #069 BY SIMINA GRIGORIU

8/22/2016

Born in Romania and raised in Toronto, Simina Grigoriu has called Berlin home for several years. The pearl on the river Spree has been the creative epicentre for Simina’s musical expression and has sharpened her natural feeling for beats and sounds. Each of Simina’s sets tells a new story and makes her cultural roots known.
While taking classical violin and keyboard lessons in her early childhood, Simina’s enthusiasm for music grew steadily. From the vinyl treasures of her parents and the Hip-Hop freestyle of her student days, Simina’s sound gradually took on a style all its own, which she has explored and remained faithful to till this day.
Her musical development would later take on a whole new twist in the clubs of Toronto. The influence of Jeff Mills, Adam Beyer, Josh Wink, and Juan Atkins, to name a few, kindled Simina’s love for techno music – a genre whose versatility captured her imagination, and which she would not be able to pull herself away from.
A few years ago Simina appeared as a bright new star in the techno sky and released her first tracks with various labels. Her release with the Berlin label Sonat Records was followed by releases with Phase Insane Records in Spain, Intelectro Vibe in Italy, Urban Sound and Frequenza Records. With the first huge smash in her career, Simina released her chart storming debut album EXIT CITY with Susumu Records.
After almost exactly twelve months Simina Grigoriu has resumed her station behind the turntables. Creative pause? Wrong! Simina has become the mother to a baby daughter, and, as befits a full-blooded artist, has not let the time elapse without music.
With the fresh impulses of motherhood, the artist fine-tuned her new tracks during her pregnancy, which have also just been lifted like a baby from the baptism. In playful tracks full of positive vibes and a solid dose of techno, Simina returns on November 16, 2015 with her first comeback release on Form Music.
It is impressive to see with what energy and vitality Simina Grigoriu masters the balancing act between family and music. She remains true to her unique sound and is now, above all: a full-time mom with the vision to be led deeper into her music by an ever-present instinct for play.
We look forward to more from an artist who we can’t imagine the techno scene without, and for a comeback that has more than earned the moniker ‘playful’.

EPISODE #063 BY NAKADIA

5/02/2016

Growing up without running water in a rural village in Thailand meant the harsh realities of a poor life left no chance for a career in electronic music. However, after being invited to Germany in 2002, one night clubbing changed all that and filled her with a spark that transformed her life into what it is today: NAKADIA - one of the world’s very few globally successful female electronic music artists. Fresh from the buzz of that night, Nakadia took turntables home to Thailand and started shaping her craft.
Unguided by other DJs and with no club scene for inspiration, she practiced relentlessly to develop her own sound. It was only when she moved to the Thai island of Koh Samui in 2003 where she came into contact with a small electronic music scene and got some first practice in playing for European tourists.
Nakadia’s first years as a DJ were all about the growth of her personal sound and style. By 2004, her first year as a full time DJ, she already performed 55 gigs across 12 countries. Over the next four years Nakadia found herself in the sounds of Deep House, Tech House and Techno.
Ever since, this lovely young Thai girl has been bringing her underground sounds to the dance floors of legendary venues like “Watergate“ Berlin, “Cafe D Anvers“ Antwerp, “The Egg“ London, “D Edge“ Sao Paulo, “Lola“ Shanghai, and “Glow“ Bangkok, just to name a few. ANTS - one of Ibiza’s top events - heard about Nakadia and invited her for a first set at Ushuaia. After the incredible reaction, Nakadia is now part of the ANTS colony on Ibiza.
With a huge portion of raw talent, fearless mixing, but most of all her incredible energy, she turns every doubter into a Nakadia-lover. Without a big label behind her name and no top manager pulling the strings, her success is purely self-made, based on the results she delivers both in the DJ booth as in the studio. In a time where labels matter more than anything, Nakadia proves that quality tunes and genuine love for music make the difference.
The relentless pace of her touring made it hard for Nakadia to find studio time early in her career. Step-by-step she released first tracks in 2005 and 2008. But it wasn’t until 2012 when she chose to focus more on production before her tracks really took off. Nakadia scored her first big club hit during summer of 2013 with her “Check&Run” EP on Clarisse records. The illustrious TECHNASIA supported with a remix and this tune remained in the Beatport Techno top 40 for 12 weeks.
During 2014 Nakadia devoted more time to the studio and the resulting EP’s will be available from October 2014 onwards. Her next highlight is a project with legendary GEORGE MOREL, scheduled for release on Get Physical Music at the end of 2014. With far over 100 high profile bookings across the world each year Nakadia is already going strong....
But these are just the opening chapters of a truly unique career that so far has been nothing short of a musical fairytale.

The following year he started the project Emmanuel Dunn (his former stage name) and his hit Norfolk reached great and unexpected success, underlined by the support of famous Djs as Umek, Marco V, Hernan Cattaneo and Joe T Vannelli. Successful has also been the realization of his bootlegs Data - One In A Million and Kasabian - Days Are Forgotten, played by Top Djs such as Tiesto, David Guetta and others back in the days.
In 2013, he left his old crew and decided to go back to his birth name Rosario Galati. He started collaborating with Déepalma Records which has been bringing him onto the radar of the worldwide industry.
Many successful remix productions, numerous inclusions on famous Mix-Compilations and collaborations with artists like UK’s rising star Vanilla Ace, Italian compatriot Simone Vitullo, Deeplomatik from Miguel Migs’ finest Salted Music or his friend Yves Murasca – label head of Déepalma Records - are setting the path for a bright future.

EPISODE #062 BY CLAUDE MONNET

4/04/2016

The above words can be used to describe one of France’s most-revered house and electronic music DJ’s. From his inception into music at the tender young age of 16, where he learnt how to spin wax at landmark clubs such as Le Queen, Le Palace and Les Bains Douches, to currently touring the world from London to Singapore and beyond, Claude’s name has become synonymous with deep grooves and blissful beats – it’s all given an extra special, smooth French touch, keeping Claude’s trademark style firmly in tact.
His sober attitude and uncompromising love of music have allowed him to be recognized as one of the world's best DJ producers – this recognition propelled him into some of the largest electronic music events such as Ibiza's “French Revolution” with Daft Punk and Cassius in 1998 and the co-production of a 1998 Eiffel tower show with Jean-Michel Jarre in front of more than one million people (and subsequent Jarre's "Odyssey Through 02" album).
Nowadays, when he’s not travelling the world, dazzling the super cool crowd of The Rex in Paris, or caressing the crowds of Pacha and Amnesia in Ibiza, Claude keeps busy as a producer and record label boss. A man with a keen and clear vision, Claude set up labels SSOH and Analog, both focusing on different strands within the vast world of electronic music.
Where Analog concentrates on Claude’s own masterful production skills as he weaves dreamy big room house, SSOH heads further into the underground, championing and supporting artists who are breaking entities and looking for a lift into the scene they so adore. Previous Frenchmen who have felt the golden Claude touch have been Parisian disco mainstay Dimitri From Paris, DJ Gregory, Llorca, Franck Roger, Rocco, David Duriez and Laurent Garnier. They are of course in the best hands when they approach the Godfather of the Parisian dance scene – he did of course discover the ever-popular popstar/producer Martin Solveig. Hell, Claude’s son even starred in the video for Martin’s smash hit single ‘C’est la vie’.
Claude’s music finds its roots heavily entrenched within a number of musical disciplines, each bleeding, melding and growing into one another. Detailed but eclectic, Claude’s music exploits the musical timbres and conventions of house, soul, disco and funk, extracting the best bits and mixing them with Latin and African beats, infused by a warm energy akin to Detroit Techno. Keeping its identity firmly in the underground, whilst simultaneously experimenting with the hooks and pop conventions of more commercial Dance music, the beauty of Claude’s sound is it’s ability to sit comfortably between the underground and over-ground scenes – able to make each strand to come together and share inspiration, whilst he confidently forges his own unique sound and image somewhere between the two. A skill he has become an expert at, with over 20 years in the game, and his first production coming out in 1995, Claude’s integrity and ear for music are second to none.
Creating special events for international DJs such as Not2bad, Claude Monnet's passion always leads him to groundbreaking projects such as Back to Fundamentals, a mix of electronic music and urban art. 2010 and beyond is certainly no different – with a new initiative about to begin with the B2F project, keep your eyes peeled for a succession of EP releases from the stable, including a popular monthly podcast series, each month taking the listener through a delectable journey through house music and disco-tinged funk. Old and New, smooth and heavy and always on point, with a huge core fan base and a large, power-sharing focus of interactivity through street art competitions and initiatives, Claude’s B2F podcasts have become a benchmark for quality in the global scene.
And so…with projects planned throughout 2010 and into 2011, two high quality and prolific labels, plus a third label / podcast / creative concept all set to gain even more pace, we invite you to dive in and discover as Claude extends the reach of his warm, thoughtfully crafted beats and uniquely creative approach on modern music. Claude Monnet. 20 years in the making…and still going strong.

EPISODE #061 BY SIMINA GRIGORIU

2/08/2016
